Rage

Surf-style wake board built for tight carves and quick pumps behind the boat.

WAKE SURFTHRUSTER / QUAD / 5-FIN2'–3' WAKE BEHIND A MODERN SURF-SYSTEM INBOARDFROM $750

Rage is our dedicated wake-surf shape — built for the rider who treats the wake wave like a real wave. The wake behind a properly-ballasted inboard is short, steep, and unrelenting. Foam pop-outs and skim-style flat-bottoms feel adrift on that face. Rage doesn't.

WHAT IT WANTS

Boat wake. Built specifically for the wake behind a surf-style boat — short, lightweight, EPS/epoxy construction tuned for river and lake riding, not ocean surf.

SKILL LEVEL

All skill levels — wake surfing is approachable from day one; experienced ocean surfers will appreciate the responsiveness.

WHAT IT'S NOT

Not a saltwater board. Construction is optimized for fresh water and boat-wake riding; the foam and glassing aren't designed to hold up to ocean conditions over time.

HOW IT'S DESIGNED

Designed in Shape3D and CNC-cut at the SoCal facility, Rage carries shortboard DNA into the freshwater lane. The outline pulls cues from performance quads — refined entry rocker for clean drop-ins off the platform, flat through the middle to maintain pump speed, and tail rocker calibrated so the back end releases without sliding out. Rails are tucked low through the front foot for hold and lifted softer in the tail for looser carves. Quad fin setup as default, with a 5-fin convertible upsell — drive when you want it, release when you don't.

WHERE IT WORKS

Rage is shaped by people who surf real waves and ride real wakes — not by a factory team chasing pro-tour decals. It's the wake board for the rider whose other quiver lives at Lowers, Salt Creek, San Onofre, or T-Street, and whose weekends move between Lake Havasu, Castaic, Lake Powell, or the Colorado River. Built to your specs. Glassed by Sykes & co. Every Rage is built to order — no two riders, boats, or lakes are quite the same; your Rage shouldn't be either.

THE DESIGN

A wake surf board is a short, wide, lightweight platform built for the inland boat-wake context. Wider tail for loose-tail tricks behind the boat, lower entry rocker for skate-style speed, and a fin layout tuned between skim and surf style.

THE RAILS

Softer rails than an ocean board — wake surf doesn't ask the rails to engage like surf does, so the rails carry forgiving feel through the body for grab-and-recovery moves.

Custom builds are tuned to your dims and surfing style. Talk to Blake about specifics.

FIN SETUP

5-fin setup. Five plugs total: customer can run finless, single trailer, side bite (twin), thruster, or full quad mode. Boat-wake boards live by their fin flexibility — different mode for different wake shapes and rider preferences.

Want to discuss the mode picks for your wake style? Read the fin guide, then start a conversation — Blake's happy to talk it through before you lock the build.

Recommended Fins

Wake surf boards run a quad cluster tuned for boat-wake context — wider tail fins for loose-tail tricks, smaller front bites for skim-style speed. Fin choice biases the board between skim and surf style.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What size Rage should I get?

Length is the entry point — width and tail are the levers. The 4'4" runs lighter riders or smaller wakes; the 4'8" handles heavier riders or a larger wake (a Tigé 25ZX or MasterCraft XT25 throws more water than a stock LSV). 4'6" is the all-arounder. If you're under 150 lbs or behind a smaller wake, drop a size. If you're over 200 lbs or behind a big-ballast boat, scale up. When you order, tell us your boat make, model, and ballast configuration — we sanity-check spec against your wave before the build kicks off.

Quad, thruster, or 5-fin — what should I run?

Quad is stock. The wake is short and steep, and a quad gives you drive on the rail and release through the carve — the surf-style default for this kind of wave. A thruster will tighten the tail and give you more hold (good if you're a heavy-back-foot rider or carving a longer arc through a bigger wake). The 5-fin convertible lets you run either from the same board — pay once, decide later. If you're not sure, start with quad. It's where most surfers crossing over from ocean shapes end up anyway.

Will Rage work behind my boat?

Rage is tuned for modern surf-system inboards throwing a clean 2'–3' wave — Malibu LSV, MasterCraft X-Series, Axis, Centurion Ri, and similar. If your boat doesn't have a surf system or proper ballast, the wake will be too soft and short for any surf-style board to work right; Rage included. When you start an order, give us your boat make, model, and ballast configuration. If we think the spec won't match your wave, we'll say so before the build kicks off.

Diamond Turbo?

Same lane — surf-style, performance-oriented, quad-finned, built for modern surf-system inboards. Difference is who's making it and where. Rage is designed in Shape3D and CNC-cut at our SoCal facility, then glassed and finished by Sykes & co. Built one at a time to your specs, not pulled off a shelf. The boutique-California build is the closest peer to the Beyond Wakesurf Iliad in market positioning, but priced in the surfboard tier ($750–$1,100 per finish level) rather than the high-end wake-only price band.

Is Rage surf-style or skim-style?

Surf-style — rocker, fuller rails, quad fin setup, tail tuned for drive and hold. Built for tight carves and quick pumps, not for shuv- its or skate-style tricks. If you mostly throw 360s, big spins, and slide the board across the trough, a skim-style flat-bottom will serve you better. Rage is for the rider who wants the wake board to feel like the rest of their quiver.

How long does a Rage build take?

Same queue as any custom Lundquist build, depending on the glass tier you pick. Clear resin sanded ($750) is 4–6 weeks. Resin tint sanded ($900) is 8–10 weeks — tinting both sides of the lam adds time. Gloss + polish ($1,100) is 6–8 weeks. Timelines reflect the current queue and confirm on order. 25% deposit holds your slot; balance due on completion.

Do you offer glass-on fins for wake-surf?

No. Glass-on works for ocean shortboards because the fin templates are locked once the build runs, but wake-surfers swap fins more often across boats and conditions, and a glass-on fin can't come out. Rage ships with fin boxes — Futures by default, FCS II on request. Pick the box system at order time.

Can I demo a Rage before I order?

Not as a stocked demo program — every Rage is built to order. If you're local to San Clemente, message Blake and we'll see what we can arrange. Otherwise the closest thing to a demo is a conversation: tell us your boat, your wake, your weight, and what you ride in the ocean, and we'll dial in spec accordingly. The custom-build process is the demo.

COMPLETE THE QUIVER
