The Fantasma is our flagship traditional longboard — built around glide, paddle, and drawn-out turns on clean point waves and soft beach breaks.
WHAT IT WANTS
Clean, soft-breaking waves — ankle-high to shoulder-high, with a rideable face to draw out. Soft points, long beach breaks, tropical long-point sessions. The Fantasma wants a wave to flow on, not a peak to drop into.
SKILL LEVEL
For intermediate-to-advanced surfers who want classic traditional log behavior — trim, noseriding, long drawn-out turns. Beginners can ride a Fantasma too; the shape is forgiving.
WHAT IT'S NOT
Not a high-performance log for loose pivot turns and nose-to-tail hops. Not a mid-length — if you want shorter rail line and 2+1, the Spectre handles that. Not built for heavy-surf situations.
BUILD DETAILS
Build overview — rocker profile, rail shapes, fin positions. Hover any zone for the per-section call-outs.

THE DESIGN
Low entry rocker gives real noseriding lift and an effortless paddle; the nose drops cleanly onto the water without pearling. A belly bottom rolls rail-to-rail through the middle and traces a long, unbroken line across the face of a wave — classic hull contour, not a modern single-concave performance longboard. High exit rocker keeps the tail able to turn when the wave asks, so the board isn't locked into pure trim.
THE RAILS
50/50 rails through the midsection — the traditional-log rail treatment that holds a clean trim line and releases water predictably out of turns. Neither hard-edged nor fully rolled; the balance that's kept traditional logs relevant for 50+ years.

STOCK DIMENSIONS
Stock dimensions are where we start. Longboards measure by length by width by thickness — we don't publish liters for boards in this category; longboard customers shop on L × W × T. Customers tweak width and thickness to match their weight, style, and the waves they ride. Talk to Blake about any adjustments — he'll help you dial in a board with your riding preferences in mind.

+ How to think about dims
Length. 9'0"–10'4" covers most of our longboard customers. 9'0" is contest-legal; 9'6" is the most-ridden log size (our pilot); 10'0"+ is for heavier riders or pure noseriders. Longer = more glide, easier noseriding, more paddle — and harder to turn through the pocket.
Width. Wider = more paddle and more trim stability. Narrower = easier rail-to-rail, tighter turn radius. Longboards run 22"–24"; the Fantasma lives around 23" for the core sizes.
Thickness. Thicker = more buoyancy and a drier deck during long sessions. Thinner = easier rail bury and faster transitions. 3" at 9'6" is the Lundquist log standard.
Between sizes? Go longer for glide and noseriding; go shorter for pocket response. We don't typically recommend narrowing the Fantasma — the outline is what generates paddle.

FIN SETUP
Single fin stock — and the only setup we offer on this shape. We use a 10.5" Stavron long box centered on the stringer, the long-box standard for traditional logs. Most Fantasma customers ride a 9"–10" rake fin — a traditional log template from True Ames, NVS, or Stavron. The long box lets you slide the fin forward for noseriding lift or back for tighter trim, all on the same board.
Leash attachment is your pick: a through-box leash (resin-filled hole in the fin box) or a glassed leash loop (fiberglass loop glassed to the deck near the tail). Both are traditional longboard methods — no plastic deck plug.
Need help picking between rake and pivot fin templates? Read the fin guide, then start a conversation — Blake's happy to talk it through.
Recommended Fins
Fantasma is a longboard — it wants a drawn-out single fin that holds long arcs and trims through the wave. Drive-leaning templates with moderate rake keep the Fantasma flowing through both noseriding and carved turns. Pick the 4-A for the all-around classic; lean Skip Frye if you want more glide; lean Performance if you want to turn harder.

On a longboard, the spectrum reads: rake + flex = trim, hold, and noseride stability. Pivot-leaning fins are personal-preference territory — they trade drawn-out arcs for a looser, more responsive feel. A different riding style than the classic raked single.
WHAT TO PICK
Longboards live in the rake band. SINGLE FIN templates only. RAKED templates require minimum 9.75" length per the Lundquist standard — drawn-out arcs that hold noseriding lines and trim through the wave. PIVOT-template longboard fins are acceptable at any length but ride differently — looser tail, less drawn-out arcs, more responsive. Per-fin picks for this model are coming — message Blake for current recommendations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What size Fantasma should I order?
The 9'6" is our pilot size and the most-ordered Fantasma — it balances glide, paddle, and turn response for riders 140–200 pounds. Below 180 pounds, consider 9'0"–9'4". Above 200 pounds or for pure noseriders, step up to 9'10"–10'4". Sizes 10'6"+ are for dedicated heavy-logger specialists.
What's the stock fin setup?
Single fin stock — Futures 10" center box, typically ridden with a 9"–10" rake template. 2+1 option adds two small side bites (3–3.5") for added drive. Same shape, same rocker — just a different box layout.
What leash attachment comes on the Fantasma?
Your pick between two traditional longboard methods: a through- box leash (a resin-filled hole drilled horizontally through the fin box, leash loops through) or a glassed leash loop (a fiberglass loop glassed onto the deck near the tail). Both are classic; neither uses a plastic deck plug. See the build guides for each method.
How is the Fantasma different from a performance longboard?
Performance longboards use single concave bottoms, harder rails, thruster fin setups, and modern rocker lines — built for pivot turns and nose-to-tail hops. The Fantasma is a traditional log: belly bottom, 50/50 rails, single-fin primary, classic rocker — built for trim, noseriding, and drawn-out turns. If you want pivot performance, a thruster-bottomed log is better tuned for that.
How long does a Fantasma take to build?
4–6 weeks on a clear-sanded build, 6–8 weeks on gloss-and-polish, 8–10 weeks on tint-sanded. All turnaround reflects current queue — confirmed when you place the order. Lock your slot with a 25% deposit.
Can I get a volan tail patch?
Yes. Volan tail patch (+$40) is a popular option on the Fantasma — the traditional green-tinted glass panel in the tail that signals quality longboard construction. Volan deck patches are also available (+$30) if you noseride seriously.
Does the Fantasma work as a noserider?
Yes. The low entry rocker + belly nose + 9'6"+ length makes the Fantasma a capable noserider. If you want a dedicated noserider (not a general-purpose log), consider adding a deck patch and ordering 10'0"+ for more nose area.
What waves should I ride a Fantasma in?
Ankle-high to shoulder-high clean waves with a rideable face — soft points, long beach-break walls, tropical long-point sessions. The Fantasma wants a face to flow on. Steep, hollow, or heavy surf isn't its window.
