Message BlakeThe Pegasus is the noserider in the Lundquist line. It carries the Legacy's traditional-log DNA — the same glide-first, single-fin heritage — but three deliberate changes redraw it for one purpose: time on the nose. A wider nose, a single concave right beneath it, and a fuller hip carried toward the tail all work together to hold the board when you walk forward and hang.
WHAT IT WANTS
Small-to-medium clean point and beach surf — peeling, rolling waves with a shoulder to walk on. San Onofre on a soft morning, Doheny, Cardiff reef, waist-high points where the wave gives you time to get to the nose.
SKILL LEVEL
All levels. It glides and forgives for improvers, and it's a true noseride platform that rewards advanced log riders walking to the tip.
WHAT IT'S NOT
Not a performance log — it won't pivot or snap like a high-performance noserider. Not built for steep, hollow, or fast surf. Not a shortboard.
THE NOSE
The nose is drawn wider than the Legacy's, with a single concave set right underneath it. The extra width gives you a bigger, more stable platform to stand on; the concave channels water under the nose and lifts it, so the front of the board holds in the pocket instead of pearling when you load it. Together they're the difference between a log you trim and a log you can genuinely hang five and ten on.
THE HIP
Where the Legacy draws in cleanly to the tail, the Pegasus carries a fuller hip before it narrows. That extra width behind the midpoint anchors the tail in the face as your weight moves forward — the leverage that keeps the nose locked through a hang. Step back and the outline releases, bringing the board around the way a traditional log should.
THE FOIL & RAILS
Classic noserider rails: soft and full through the middle, 50/50 leaning to lightly down, so the board settles into the wave and forgives. The foil keeps flotation forward to feed the nose. This is a heritage log, not a performance one — it rewards smooth, foot-forward surfing over snap.
HOW IT'S DESIGNED
Start with the Legacy's heritage-log outline and single-fin platform, then make three moves for noseriding: widen the nose for planing area, set a single concave under the nose for lift and hold, and carry a fuller hip before the tail for the leverage that anchors a hang. The result is a dedicated noserider that still paddles and glides like a classic log.
THE DESIGN
Classic longboard hull. Full rocker through the nose for noseride confidence, low entry rocker for paddle and trim, and a flat-bottom or rolled-vee belly through the body that holds line cleanly across the face.

FIN SETUP
Single fin, stock. A 10.5" Stavron long box, centered on the stringer. Run a big-area flex or pivot noserider template — plenty of base and rake to hold the tail while you're up on the nose. You choose the fin separately at checkout; message Blake for a noserider template recommendation.
Need help picking templates and brands? Read the fin guide, then start a conversation — Blake's happy to talk it through before you lock the build.
Recommended Fins
Longboards live in the rake band. SINGLE FIN templates ONLY. RAKED templates (rake / rake-leaning / mid-rake) require minimum 9.75" length per the Lundquist standard — drawn-out arcs that hold noseriding lines and trim through the wave. PIVOT-template longboard fins are acceptable at any length but ride differently — looser tail, less drawn-out arcs, more responsive (the rule auto-attaches explanatory copy to those picks so customers understand they're choosing a different riding style). LS-FIX-LONGBOARD-RAKE-PIVOT-AND-GLIDER-PHILOSOPHY (May 9, 2026) refined V4's blanket ≥9.75" rule.

On a longboard, the spectrum reads: rake + flex = trim, hold, and noseride stability. Pivot-leaning fins are personal-preference territory — they trade drawn-out arcs for a looser, more responsive feel. A different riding style than the classic raked single.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What size Pegasus should I order?
Longboard sizing runs 8'6"–11'0" in 1" increments; most riders land 9'2"–9'8" depending on weight and the waves they ride. The wider nose lets you ride it a touch shorter than a Legacy and still get tip time. Real dims come off the Shape3D file — message Blake with your weight and home break and he'll dial the size.
How is the Pegasus different from the Legacy?
Same heritage-log DNA, redrawn for noseriding. Three changes: a wider nose (more planing area to stand on), a single concave right under the nose (lift and hold so it doesn't pearl when you walk forward), and a fuller hip before the tail (leverage that anchors the tail during a hang). The Legacy is the all-around traditional log; the Pegasus is the dedicated noserider.
What makes it good for noseriding?
The wide nose gives you a stable platform; the concave underneath generates lift to lock the nose in the pocket; the fuller hip anchors the tail in the face when your weight moves forward. Those three together are what let you hang five and ten instead of just trimming.
What fin should I run?
A single fin in the 10.5" Stavron long box, centered. Reach for a big-area flex or pivot noserider template — lots of base and rake to hold the tail while you're on the nose. Message Blake for a current template recommendation.
Square tail or round pin?
Square tail is the default — it gives more bite and tail anchor for noseriding, in the 1960s noserider tradition. A round pin is available as a custom alt for a cleaner trim line if you're riding it more all-around than nose-focused.
Is the Pegasus beginner-friendly?
The glide and paddle are forgiving, so an improver will have a great time cruising and trimming on it. Noseriding itself is a skill you grow into — the Pegasus is built to reward that as it comes. If you want one log that does everything, look at the Legacy; if tip time is the goal, this is the one.
What glassing does it come with?
Traditional longboard glass — heavier than a shortboard to support the length and last decades. Volan deck and tail patches are available, and a nose patch is recommended on a noserider for the extra wear up front. Resin tints, gloss + polish, and stringer options price per the standard table.
