Designed by Malibu legend Greg Liddle, the L-Flex fin was originally intended to be paired with the ‘modified displacement hull’ surfboards he became famous for pioneering beginning in 1968. This surfboard design is borrowed from the same hydrodynamic principles in boat hulls–it has a convex bottom contour which enables riders to trim more forward and find plane in waves with less power. And it requires a complimentary fin with a solid, finely-tuned flex. Enter the L-Flex… Since its inception, this fin has become a widely popular option for an array of wave riding equipment; it pairs especially well with boards that are designed for acceleration, full rail carves, and smooth transitions.
