Skip Frye Thruster - Apex (FCS (Twin Tab))

Skip Frye's thruster template was inspired by his longtime friend Jeff Grennan's fins. We widened the base and refined the tip of the classic Grennan outline, as well as making some subtle adjustments to the foiling. We dialed them in over the course of several years of testing and prototyping and ended being very happy with how these came out. Skip loves them in his gliders and long fish sleds, and says they strike the ideal balance on boards with lots of rail line. We and a number of team riders have enjoyed them in a range of boards; they go surprisingly well even in smaller boards; standard thrusters, eggs, even fishes. Some folks have had fun splitting them up and using them as quads as well The Volan fronts provide stability and drive and the center fin will offer flex and liveliness to bring a nice balance of trim, speed and control.
