Moon Shine — Build Specifications
Moon Shine is the SoCal everyday driver — built for the working surfer who reads tide swings before work, drives down for a chest-to-overhead reef session on the weekend, and packs the same board for a mainland Mexico trip when the swell turns on. Distinctly its own in the Lundquist line: not a softened Innuendo, not a smaller Five Horizons. The flat-blend zone through the bottom contour's middle is the per-model differentiator — it preserves glide through the dead spots in fat surf without compromising drive when the wave stands up. Single concave through the front two-thirds loads the front foot for paddle and lead-foot drive; soft double through the back third splits water for back-foot release. Round tail is the stock default (unique in Batch 1) — the held-in feel pairs with the model's Indo / Hawaii bias. Thruster on Futures boxes; quad and 5-fin are not offered.

22-size customer-facing catalog at 1" increments, 4'9" through 6'6". Daniel maintains 5 master Shape3D files at 4'9" / 5'4" / 5'10" / 6'2" / 6'7" — in-between sizes scale linearly between adjacent masters. Custom orders within ~3" of a master use that master file. Nose rocker reflects post-Batch-1-refinement target (~6.74% × length); tail rocker reflects current spec (~3.43% × length, MED high end — preserved through refinement). Pre-refinement nose was HIGH (~7.57%, 5.30" at 5'10") — Daniel drops ~½–¾" at 5'10" to bring Moon Shine into MED for the SoCal-everyday brief. Exact post-refinement numerics lock when Daniel returns the refined Shape3D files (v1.0.1 changelog).
OUTLINE
- Wide point
- center
- Wide point (in)
- ~35.0" from tail at 5'10" (centered) — slightly fuller in the chest area than Innuendo
- Parallel section length
- ~12" parallel through midsection at 5'10" (inferred — soft-line everyday-driver outline)
- Nose width range
- ~10.5"–11.5" across stock 4'9"–6'6" (inferred — fuller-chest outline reads softer than Innuendo through the front third)
- Tail width range
- ~13.5"–14.5" round tail across stock 4'9"–6'6" (round default, unique in Batch 1; squash and swallow custom alts run wider through the corners)
ROCKER
- Entry
- medium
- Exit
- medium
Rocker target locked at MEDIUM (~6.5%–7.0% nose at 5'10", ~4.55"–4.90" target range, midpoint ~4.72"). Post-Batch-1 refinement state — v1.0 build guide reflects target rocker, NOT pre-refinement HIGH state (which was 5.30" / 7.57% at 5'10"). Daniel drops nose ~½–¾" at 5'10" and scales proportionally across all 5 master sizes; tail rocker (MED high end, ~3.43% × length) stays as-is through refinement. Partner shops cutting from Daniel's post-refinement Shape3D files build to the post-refinement spec.
BOTTOM CONTOUR
Family: Single concave through front 2/3 → flat-blend zone → soft double concave through back 1/3
- Single concave deepest under front foot (~3/16" at the lead-foot reference)
- Flat-blend zone through the midsection — Moon Shine's per-model differentiator; preserves glide through dead spots in fat surf
- Soft double concave through the back third, blending to flat at the last 6"
Front-foot single concave loads paddle speed and lead-foot drive; the flat-blend middle preserves glide when the wave goes soft (the daily-driver-versatility move that distinguishes Moon Shine from Innuendo's continuous single-to-double); soft double through the fins splits water for back-foot release without forcing the rail-engagement of a contest contour.
RAILS
Profile: 60/40 mid-section → hard-down through last 12" of tail
- Tucked-under edge from belly to fin cluster
- Hard rail at and behind fin cluster (House Style §3 — same as Innuendo / Five Horizons)
- Foil-forward distribution per House Style §4: foam pulled forward of center, thin back third — supports paddle without violating the thin-tail signature
- Apex placement consistent across the line — surfers familiar with another Lundquist feel oriented under the arm
TAIL VARIANTS + FIN SETUPS
- Width (at reference)
- ~14.0" at 5'10"
- Tail depth
- ~2.40" tail rocker at 5'10"
- Vee transition
- Soft double concave through the back third carries cleanly through the round tail; no added vee
Held-in feel for steeper good-wave surf — Indo / Hawaii bias matches the model's positioning. Smooth release and consistent rail engagement at speed; pairs with Moon Shine's flat-blend middle to preserve glide in fat surf without giving up drive when the wave stands up. DEFAULT (unique in Batch 1 — every other Batch 1 board defaults to squash).
| Label | Distance from tail | Distance off rail | Toe | Cant |

squash
- Width
- ~14.25" at 5'10"
- Tail depth
- ~2.40" tail rocker at 5'10"
- Vee transition
- Soft double through back 1/3, blending to flat at the last 6"
Release + drive balance for SoCal-fun mode. Squash corners give faster off-the-top response than the round; corners trade some held-in drive for a livelier feel through the pocket. Custom alt — included in base price.

- Soft double through back 1/3; the swallow notch (hand-cut by Jack post-CNC) adds bite at the cheek points
Bite off the back foot in punchy surf. Swallow notch increases pivot through tight pocket sections vs round / squash. Custom alt at +$15 — Jack hand-cuts the notch after the CNC delivers a flat squared-off tail (per House Style §8 swallow-finish convention).

RECOMMENDED FINS
Mid-rake Performer is the most-recommended template across modern everyday HPSBs; PCC's balanced flex matches Moon Shine's daily-driver intent — forgiving enough for soft mornings, lively enough when the wave stands up.
GLASS SCHEDULE
- Deck
- 4oz S-cloth + 4oz warp
- Bottom
- 4oz S-cloth
- Finish
- sanded
Default schedule: 4oz S-cloth + 4oz warp deck for hard-foot durability; 4oz S-cloth bottom keeps response light. PU blank with 1/4" basswood center stringer is the shop default. Lighter glass (4oz S-cloth deck + 4oz S-cloth bottom) available for snappier flex; heavier glass (4oz S-cloth + 4oz warp deck + 4oz S-cloth + 4oz S-cloth bottom) available for travel-durability. Sanded finish standard at the $750 + $900 tiers; gloss-and-polish at the $1,100 tier.
SHAPER NOTES
Moon Shine is the SoCal everyday driver — distinctly its own, not a softened Innuendo. The flat-blend zone in the bottom contour is the per-model differentiator: it carries glide through the dead spots in fat surf without compromising drive when the wave stands up. Round-tail default is unique in Batch 1 (every other Batch 1 board defaults to squash); the round gives a held-in feel that pairs with Moon Shine's good-wave-day positioning toward Indo / Hawaii. Apply the cross-board DNA throughout: very-tip-of-nose pull-in matches Innuendo's per House Style §1, foam-from-tail trims through the last 12" per the thin-tail signature (House Style §2), foil pulled forward with a thin back third (House Style §4), hard-down rails behind the fin cluster (House Style §3), same outline scaled across all 5 master Shape3D files (House Style §5). Customer who has ridden any other Lundquist should feel oriented when this one lands under their arm.
