2nd to None — Build Specifications

The 2nd to None is the everyday-QUAD Lundquist — a modern Swiss-Army shortboard built around quad drive instead of thruster pivot. Album Insanity outline reference: centered wide point with slight forward pull, fuller through the middle than the Innuendo, and a vee-blended double back third that loads the rear quad fins for sustained-drive feel through fattier wave faces. This is the only board in the line that inverts the thruster-default convention — every other Lundquist defaults to thruster; this one is built around the quad. Not a step-up. The flat nose rocker (4.03" at 5'10" Mid master, LOW per Lundquist's calibrated scale) is the everyday-quad signature, not a groveler-flat compromise. Sits between the Innuendo (HPSB) and the Wanted (forgiving HPSB) in the line — for surfers who read fattier-face surf and want speed maintenance over pop pivot.

Customer-facing catalog runs 4'9"–6'7" at 1" increments (23 sizes). Per-length width / thickness / volume / nose rocker / tail rocker are linearly interpolated from the 5 master Shape3D sizes (4'9" Small, 5'4" Small-mid, 5'10" Mid, 6'2" Mid-large, 6'7" Large) per Daniel Workflow §4. Built boards measure to within 1/16" of stock at every length. Custom orders outside the 5 masters scale within ~3" of the nearest master. The 6'7" Large is a linear extrapolation from the True Dimensions PDF cap of 6'6" — handled with Daniel during the Batch 1 round-trip.

Flat (LOW) nose rocker is the everyday-quad signature — 4.03" at 5'10" Mid master = 5.76% of length per Lundquist's calibrated scale. Speed maintenance through fattier sections is the design intent; do not drift up to step-up territory. Tail rocker is medium (2.32" at 5'10" = 3.32%) for release-and-drive balance without sacrificing drive through the back third. Per Daniel Refinement Spec (Batch 1 May 2026): preserve LOW nose rocker across all 5 master sizes — the speed-maintenance hydrodynamics depend on it.

BOTTOM CONTOUR

Family: Single concave through the front 2/3 → vee-blended double through the back 1/3 (quad-friendly)

  • ~3/16" single concave depth at deepest through the front two-thirds
  • Vee component through last 1/3 — ~1/8" panel vee centered on the stringer
  • Slight double concave (~1/16" depth) splitting the vee through the rear quad-fin cluster

Single concave loads cleanly off the front foot through the wide point, then transitions into a vee-blended double through the back third — the vee spreads water outward toward the rear quad fins, which is what gives quads their sustained-drive feel through fattier wave faces. House Style applies in full: very-tip-of-nose pull-in matches the Innuendo (§1 — Daniel's Batch 1 cross-board consistency pass), thin-tail signature carries through the last 12" (§2), 60/40 rails hardened down through the tail (§3), foil-forward foam distribution (§4), and the same outline scales across all sizes within the model (§5).
