Understanding S-Cloth vs E-Cloth
The fiberglass cloth on your board determines how long it lasts and how it performs. Here is why we use premium weaves.

If you have ever wondered what makes one fiberglass cloth different from another, you are asking the right question. The cloth we wrap your board in is one of the most important decisions in the entire build — and most surfers never think about it.
E-Cloth: The Industry Standard
E-cloth (electrical-grade fiberglass) is what most surfboard factories use. It is affordable, widely available, and gets the job done. There is nothing wrong with e-cloth — it is the baseline that the industry has relied on for decades. Most boards you have ridden were probably glassed with e-cloth.
S-Cloth: The Upgrade
S-cloth (structural-grade or satin weave fiberglass) has a tighter, more uniform weave. It absorbs resin more evenly, creates a smoother finish, and provides better impact resistance per ounce. The result is a board that lasts longer under the same conditions. We use s-cloth where most factories use e-cloth because the difference in durability is worth the modest cost increase.
Why It Matters for Your Board
A board glassed with premium cloth weaves does not just last longer — it feels different under your feet. The flex pattern is more predictable, the surface finish is smoother, and the board ages more gracefully.
