The CI Spicy is an upright-style single fin designed in collaboration with the fine folks at Channel Islands. We’ve taken that slender outline and conservative rake profile reminiscent of the classic single fins of the ‘60s and ‘70s, and optimally tuned it with an updated foil and flex profile for present day performance. The product of a collective effort together with Devon Howard and Britt Merrick, this fin was created with CI’s Tri Plane Hull mid-length in mind–a board that blends a Greenough-inspired planing hull together with Al Merrick’s egg outline and CI’s modern-style rail and rocker profiles. But the fin is not at all limited to this board design; it works great on a variety of boards in the mid-size range. Set yourself up with a CI Spicy fin, and you will be flowing down the line and pivoting in the pocket at your local point break.
